This episode reminded me of how the Yazidi people would be used as a kind of cautionary tale in Greece decades ago. If I'm remembering correctly, an older Orthodox Greek priest cousin (strictly by marriage) of mine would take to calling me some kind of "dirty, devil worshiping Yazidi" when I proclaImed myself an atheist at the tender age of fourteen or so.
